MEET DIA

Dia’s blend of expertise, compassion, and instinct makes her an unshakeable guide for parents during the most vulnerable moment of their lives. She supported her first birth in the mid ‘90s while in her early 20’s. The experience made her realize she was meant for this work.
Before founding Colorado Midwifery, Dia’s traveled the world, earned her massage and Pilates certifications, and started her own family, but she always felt called back to midwifery. Though her path wasn’t linear, Dia has been collecting experience, training, and education in midwifery care for over 20 years.
In 2010, Dia finally had an opportunity to focus all of her attention on serving parents before, during, and after birth. First as a doula and then as a student midwife and trained monitrice doula, Dia has supported hundreds of parents during clinical births at birth centers and hospitals in the Denver area. She’s facilitated over 50 home births as a midwife, partnering with parents to bring healthy babies into the world. Dia has also empowered countless new parents with birthing education via classes, workshops, and one-on-one teaching.
Ushering new families into the world is truly Dia’s calling. She’d love to support you on your journey towards parenthood.

EDUCATION

Dia has been dedicated to midwifery, health, and wellness since her undergraduate studies. She brings her wealth of experience and education to each client, offering you a well-rounded approach that can be tailored to your needs.

TESTIMONIALS

“Dia changed my sheets, brought me beautiful food, massaged me, took hormonal calls from me crying hysterically, helped me get the nursing right so much sooner, took the baby so that I could nap, helped my husband wear the baby, and then created a special little Mama and “big sister” foot-bath ritual that was just for the two of us. She included her big sister in such a beautiful way. I could go on.”

– Danya R

“As my postpartum doula, Dia was always encouraging me to find and then trust my inner wisdom when making all sorts of decisions regarding my daughter’s needs. Whenever Dia came to my house, my husband would compliment me on how calm the baby and I were that day! I can’t recommend Dia enough.”

– Jen K.

“Dia was absolutely wonderful—a calming, comforting presence who provided physical and emotional support from our very first contact through our postnatal meeting and beyond. She also brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to help us with making decisions and facing challenges throughout the process.”
